Karl Olav Sandnes deckt die erste Interpretation oder Rezeption von Paulus Verständnis der Tora auf und bietet damit einen kritischen und nötigen Blick auf verbreitete Tendenzen in der Paulusforschung. Karl Olav Sandnes uncovers the first interpretation of Pauls view on Torah. He provides a critical view, focusing on Paul citing and interacting with how others perceived of his theology. Punitive actions taken against Paul by synagogues are also included. Das Gesetz steht im Epizentrum der aktuellen Forschung zu Paulus. Die Interpretation dieses umstrittenen Themas begann vor den Paulusbriefen und fand seinen Weg in selbige, indem Paulus selbst erwähnte, wie andere seine Theologie verstanden und Gerüchte und Kritik wiedergab und dadurch mit ihnen interagierte. Zu dieser rezeptionsorientierten Perspektive gehören auch Strafmaßnahmen, die von Synagogen gegen Paulus verhängt wurden. Zur Rezeption des Paulus wird auch die Apostelgeschichte herangezogen, die ein komplexeres Bild bietet als das, welches von Paulus Fürsprechern innerhalb des Judentums geliefert wird. Daher deckt Karl Olav Sandnes die erste Interpretation oder Rezeption von Paulus Verständnis der Tora auf. Es ist in seiner Reichweite eingeschränkt, bietet aber einen kritischen und nötigen Blick auf verbreitete Tendenzen in der Paulusforschung. Paulus Dezentrierung der Tora wurde als Gefahr für die Moral angesehen, sowohl für Juden als auch für Heiden. Die Wahrnehmung der Theologie des Paulus muss in der Paulusforschung berücksichtigt werden. An epicenter in present-day Pauline scholarship is the issue of the Law. The interpretation of this contentious issue started before Pauls letters and found its way into them by his citing how others perceived of his theology, and in Paul rendering rumors and criticism, and also interacting with them. To this reception-oriented perspective belong also punitive actions taken against Paul by synagogues. As a reception of Paul, Acts is included, leaving a more complex picture than argued by advocates of Paul within Judaism. Thus Karl Olav Sandnes uncovers the first interpretation or reception of Pauls view on Torah. It is limited in its scope, but provides a critical and necessary view on common trends in Pauline scholarship.
