Diese ist ein religionsgeschichtlich, althistorisch wie philosophiegeschichtlich gleichermaßen wichtiger Text aus der Spätantike. Die Vita Procli bietet wichtige Informationen über die Situation paganer neuplatonischer Philosophen in einer christianisierten Gesellschaft (im Athen des späten 5. Jh. n.Chr.). Sie stellt einen dezidiert paganen Gegenentwurf zu christlichen Hagiographien dar und zeigt den platonischen Philosophen Proklos als paganen Heiligen. The Life of Proclus or On Happiness, written by the Neoplatonic philosopher Marinus, is a remarkable text from the late 5th century AD. In the introduction as well as in the seven essays of this volume, the authors examine the literary, philosophical, astronomical, historical and socio-historical themes in this text. Die Schrift , verfasst von dem neuplatonischen Philosophen Marinos, ist ein bemerkenswerter Text des späten 5. Jh. n.
